Scatter Creek Montessori is a nature preschool for children ages 3-6 in Rochester, WA. We’re doing Montessori outside on the farm winter, spring, summer, and fall!
In recent years, science has overwhelmingly proven Maria Montessori’s observation (well over a century ago) that it is interest that leads to long-term, deep learning, and at Scatter Creek Montessori we are all about interest-led, joyful exploration and discovery in nature. Students’ purposeful work (dynamic play and focused activity) supports active learning that is driven by the child’s own interest throughout our farm campus.
A Montessori peace curriculum is emphasized, nurtured through our interactions with one another and in nature each day. We celebrate differences, value problem-solving and collaboration, and embrace every kind of family and expression of individuality.
